Costa Rica
Our Costa Rica Rainforest Biology Camp tour is situated in the Veragua Rainforest Biology Center. Set in Brisas de Veragua with enchanting views of the endless mountains of the Talamanca Range, the area is surrounded by 100% rainforest.
This private reserve borders the spectacular La Amistad International Park, the largest nature reserve in Central America. Here, students work with conservation partners for hands-on research and sustainability of biology and earth sciences. From the University of Costa Rica to the National Institute of Biodiversity and beyond, scientists and educators have selected this top location for field study and now your students are welcomed too. With the goal of involving pupils to become new researchers, school groups will work together with project biologists on current research studies.
Students will immerse themselves in rainforest biology with owl night hikes, insect collection and identification, frog investigation, butterfly garden work, and more. Add-on fun excursions like ziplining through the rainforest, white-water rafting, and organic pineapple agriculture tours. Schools stay in research-type accommodation, rustic-style with bunk beds. It’s no frills, but it’s real-life research for incredible projects that may just impact our world.
Enjoy waterfalls, scout for monkeys and sloths in the treetops, watch the skies for incredible macaws and toucans.
