Andalusia (Islamic Culture)
Many of the cities in Andalusia, such as Cordoba, Granada and Seville, still boast spectacular Islamic architecture from the period when vast areas of the Iberian Peninsula were ruled by Muslim Arab and Berber states.
A visit of Seville includes a guided tour of the The Royal Alcazar, a Christian Palace built by Muslim Craftsmen with a unique mudejar decoration, as well as The Giralda Tower, a former Minaret of the Mosque of Seville from the year 1182.
Cordoba offers groups tohe opportunity to visit The Great Mosque of Cordoba, the Bridge of Musa ibn Nusayr and the famous Calahorra Tower.
In Granada, your group will visit the Alhambra, the best preserved Medieval Muslim Royal Palace, as well as the Albaicin, former Muslim Quarters, and the Grand Mosque of Granada. In our visit we will walk in the Royal houses of the Muslim Sultans from the Nasrid dynasty, founded by Muhammad al-Ahmar, and we will “Read the Alhambra”, by following the Arabic inscriptions in their Walls, full of Du’a, Quar’an, Poetry and more.
Our Islamic cultural school trips include local guides providing expert knowledge on local restaurants serving halal meals with time built into your itinerary for prayer, as well as the opportunity to visit local mosques to pray with the local Muslim community.
