Washington
There are so many reasons to take a school Politics tour to Washington! The 3 pillars of the US government; the White House, Congress and Supreme Court are here, the famous sites and memorials can be visited on foot or using the Metro and many of the museums offer free admission for school groups.
A Politics tour to Washington will help your students to better understand America’s political system. Your students could see the Declaration of Independence at the National Archives; stand in the spot where Martin Luther King Jr gave his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech on the Lincoln Memorial’s steps; and be a short distance from where Lincoln was assassinated in Ford’s Theatre.
Curriculum Links
Our school tour to Washington is relevant to students of A-Level and AS-Level Politics, but may also be of interest to History students studying Immigration and Life in the USA, making it an ideal cross-curricular school trip.
