Brussels
Discover the day-to-day running of the European Parliament, Europe’s largest parliamentary visitor centre. Take a seat in the cinema of the Parliamentarium and get a 360° view of Europe and of its Parliament. Discover how the Parliament works, how laws are made and why European politics matter.
Experience the engaging “MEP for a Day” role play game which is designed for groups of secondary school students and lasts 2.5 hours. Players are split up into political groups and step into the shoes of Members of the European Parliament. By debating on actual issues and themes, they learn how European Union legislation is created and how the future of Europe is forged. The role-play game reveals the full extent of the legislative process, from consulting interest groups and forming alliances to negotiating with other institutions and speaking to the media.
Visit the European Commission for a talk on the history and role of the Commission and visit the European Council for a Question-and-Answer session. And finally challenge your Politics students to contemplate both Europe’s history and its future at the House of European History.
