    Berlin

Berlin tells the story of imperial power, the birth and death of regimes, race and persecution and eventually the return to stable democracy. Berlin is the perfect location for a school history tour for students, where so many of the 20th Century’s key historical events played out.

Students will be able to walk along a remaining section of the Berlin Wall, have their photo taken with the border guards at Checkpoint Charlie, visit the former HQ of the SS and gestapo, and obtain a far greater understanding of Berlin with a guided walking tour of the city following either a Third Reich or Cold War theme.

Berlin can easily be explored on foot or by using the u-bahn or s-bahn, including from the airport and to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, making your school History trip to Berlin a sustainable and less expensive option without the need for coach hire.

Curriculum Links

A school history trip to Berlin allows your school group to focus on a particular theme but also develop their wider understanding of 20th Century History. Your students will learn how Hitler rose to power in Germany and Berlin’s role during the Third Reich. Explore former Nazi buildings, war memorials, and the site where Hitler’s bunker stood.
