    WW1 Battlefields

On a school History trip to Ypres and the Somme your students will explore the WW1 Battlefields and the Western Front, develop their understanding of the destructive power, waste and futility of war and experience what life was like in the trenches for the soldiers.

Students will be provided with the opportunity to visit interactive museums, explore preserved trench systems, handle authentic equipment and weaponry and to reflect by participating in the Last Post Ceremony.

By combining a trip to Ypres with a visit to the Somme, students can enhance their understanding of what was the worst day in the history of the British Army, the 1916 Battle of the Somme.
