Dublin
Learn about the fascinating, complex political history between the UK and Ireland on a politics school trip to Dublin! From the contentious issue of Home Rule to the Easter Rising and establishment of the Irish Free State, Dublin is an excellent base from which to explore the locations where these historical events took place.
The immersive and interactive museum at the General Post Office provides an excellent insight into modern Irish history as the GPO was the headquarters for the 1916 Easter Rising. We follow this with the 1916 Easter Rising Walking tour and conclude the itinerary with a visit to the National Museum of Ireland where students will get a general introduction to the political, social, and cultural events leading up to the Rising.
Before departing Dublin, we highly recommend a visit to the Irish Immigration Museum, an interactive experience voted Europe’s leading tourist attraction in 2019 and 2020.

Our school tour to Dublin is most relevant to students of A-Level, AS-Level and GCSE Politics but may also be of interest to History students studying Immigration.
